Arsenal Youngster Hopeful Of A Good Start, Injury-Free Season & The League Title.

Arsenal’s Premier league season begins in just a little over a week from now with a game against Crystal Palace but that will be prior to the Gunners Community Shield clash against Champions Manchester City. But its not just the senior boys who are hoping to have a great new season as the Arsenal academy stars are also gearing up for the new season after a very impressive pre-season campaign.

England youth sensation, Daniel Crowley looks forward to the coming season in Arsenal’s under-21’s after recently signing his first professional contract.

Daniel Crowley recently signed his first professional contract with Arsenal football club. The 17-year old midfielder joined the Gunners from Aston Villa last summer, and has caught the eye with his performances last year in the under-18’s.

Crowley when asked about his performances last season told Arsenal’s official website:

“I had two bad injuries last year and I found it hard to get into the speed of it. Hopefully this season I can push on and play week-in, week-out for the under-21’s.”

Crowley on; pre-season:

“We’ve done a lot better in pre-season than last year and we’ve done a lot of fitness work to help us get physically stronger so we can compete against these sort of sides. We’re hoping to win the league this season so it’s important to get off to a good start.”

Crowley on; new academy head coach Andries Jonker:

“Andries has been brilliant since he started. You can see how much knowledge he has just by talking to him a couple of times and you can see who he’sworked with in the past.

“It’s great for the whole club. Liam [Brady] is a fantastic coach and a great role model and now it’s a fresh start for everyone.

“Andries has worked with the best players in the world. Hopefully I can improve the defensive side of my game under him.”

The playmaker has impressed coaches already during pre-season. Crowley has scored five goals in three games, one of them being a brilliant strike against Forest Green Rovers. The 17-year-old has also represented England’s youth sides.

The young lad is certainly one for the future.
