Arsenal Wenger while talking to Arsenal player earlier today was asked whether he planned any further moves, the Frenchman underlined his satisfaction with his squad but admitted he is open to more opportunities.
“I’m happy with the players I signed, with their quality and their attitude,” Wenger said.
“There hasn’t been a massive change but we signed Debuchy, Sanchez, Ospina and Chambers, all of them have integrated well mentally into the team.
“We are not destabilised and I feel it’s a strong reinforcement of our squad. Will I still do something? I don’t rule it out. Our finances are still healthy but we want to go through in the Champions League group stages to do that.
With Arsene Wenger looking to bring in a specialist defensive midfielder ahead of the new Premier League season, reports are growing that Cheick Tiote is the player Wenger wants.
According to reports, Wenger believes the Ivorian midfield enforcer could be the ideal player to add steal to the Gunners’ midfield.
Arsenal though are not the only interested party in the 28-year-old who is believed to have become unsettled in the north-east with clubs in Germany, Spain and Russia all interested in the player.
The reported £8 million price tag on the midfield would present a cheaper option for Arsenal as opposed to the club’s other reported targets William Carvalho and Sami Khedira.
Alan Pardew would certainly not be keen to lose his vice-captain but the Magpies do have a recent track record of selling their star players after having sold Andy Carroll and Yohan Cabaye in recent seasons.
In other news Arsenal are also being rumoured to be interested in PSG’s Edison Cavani with an Audacious £51 million bid being mooted.
Many reports are suggesting that Arsenal are not yet done with their mega transfer dealings this summer and will be looking to cause another upset when they pull this deal through, to make known their stance to fight for major titles this season.
Another signing Arsenal could make in the coming days is Greek champions and Olympiacos defender Kostas Manolas with the club reportedly demanding £8 million from Arsenal for the signature of the 23-year-old. With some reports already suggesting that Arsene Wenger will be Willing to take the deal to the next level as soon as possible following the recent injury/fitness concern of Arsenal’s French defensive regular Laurent Koscielny.
