I Want To Score Many Goals, Arsenal Star Reveals Ahead Of Everton Clash.

Arsenal take on Everton in this Saturday’s evening time kick-off at the Goodison Park, and one Arsenal man who has been outstanding for the Gunner so far this since his arrival has said that his target for the new season is to beat his old record and help Arsenal to title success this season.

Santi Cazorla has set his sights on beating last season’s personal goal tally in a bid to fire Arsenal to the Premier League title.

The Spain international scored seven times last term, including one in the FA Cup final, on the back of a record 12 goals in his first campaign in England.

The 29-year-old scored against Manchester City as the Gunners lifted the Community Shield earlier this month, and hopes that is the first of many.

“Wembley is a special stadium for me, it will always be for what I’ve achieved there with Arsenal: winning the FA Cup and the Community Shield,” Cazorla told Arsenal Player.

“Kicking off a new season in that fashion is always nice, winning a title and also helping by scoring a goal. That keeps your morale high. As I always say, my target is helping the team with goals.

“I hope to equal or beat my goalscoring tally from last season. That’s something every player wants to achieve. Hopefully I’ll help the team with many goals because that would be a signal that I can be useful.

“Apart from that, I’d like to play as much as possible. Luckily the manager has always trusted me in the previous two years; I played a good number of games and hopefully I’ll keep doing so.”

Cazorla is confident he can improve on last season’s performances and is hungry for more success after the Gunners’ FA Cup victory.

“My first season here was very good,” he said.

“I managed to beat my scoring record – which had been nine with Malaga – with 12 goals.

“Last season I wasn’t so consistent because I struggled with ankle problems after a blow with Spain. For this reason I lacked consistency.

“But in the end we managed to win a title after so many years and hopefully this year I’ll be able to give 100 per cent physically and mentally in order to lift more trophies.”
