No! No!! No!!! – Wenger On Transfer Targets, But Yes He’s Planning A Big Surprise.

Following the Gunner’s 1-0 victory over Turkish side Besiktas Wednesday night in their second leg Champions League play-off clash at the Emirates, Arsenal manager – Arsene Wenger while speaking to the press in his post match interview answered quite a few questions long begging for answers from  Arsenal fans .

When asked on the injury to his preferred forward Olivier Giroud’s Wenger said,

“Giroud had surgery today from a broken tibia and he will be out for 3-4 months on the competition side. That means he will be capable to play again in the Premier League certainly at the end of December because he will be out for two months. By the time he comes back, that goes three to four months. You ask me straight away who we will buy? I give you the answer straight away – at the moment nobody.”

On whether he has contacted Zigic,

“Zigic? No.”

On the possibility of buying any more players,

“If you want to make everyone happy, you just always buy players. But what is important is the performance on the football pitch and the solidarity we have shown tonight. Having said that, if you look at the players we have on the bench and those who are injured, we have players. I believe you cannot everytime buy when a player is injured.”

On a defender or a midfielder being a priority,

“We are open for any position as long as we feel that the player can strengthen the squad. Buy to buy, I don’t see the purpose of that. If we find the players who we feel can give something to our squad, we will do it in any position. We are open but it has to be enough to buy. It has to make sense.”

On whether he will sign Danny Welbeck,

On Song returning and Ozil’s performance,

“Mesut Ozil’s performance doesn’t concern me and Alex Song will not be coming back”.

On whether Falcao is in his price range,

And although the answers given by Wenger were rather “not-so-pleasing” considering the managers stance on signing more players. But many feel unconvinced insisting that Wenger is just being his old self as the Frenchman has always held his transfer cards very close to his chest and would come through for the club with befitting signings in various department before the end of the summer transfer window.  So chill Arsenal fans cause Arsene is planning a big surprise for sure.

Even though Wenger has denied being linked with any player lately, the Media has not ceased to draw claims on the Gunners making various contacts to agents and clubs for the availability of their various target in a bid to do business before the end of the transfer window, which is set to shut its “ugly doors” in just a few days from now.
