Arsenal To Pay SHOCK FEE To Land High Rated Midfield Talent.

Goncalo Guedes

Goncalo Guedes

Benfica’s Goncalo Guedes dubbed the new Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked to Arsenal in recent weeks.

The 19-year-old who has had an Impressive season with Benfica B team hence earning him promotion to the senior squad has been courted by some of Europe’s big spenders.

Reports according to Daily Star, are suggesting that Arsenal are at the forefront for his signature with a €40 million price been quoted by Benfica.

However, it remains to be seen if the frugal professor will actually sanction this deal.

Besides the price tag, here are some other reasons I believe this deal won’t happen…

Chambo’s got talent.

Raw, exciting and a pace to burn are all attributes associated with this young Englishman.

His progress this season has been nothing short of remarkable, and if not for injury, he would have kept his place in the team.

Often criticised for his lack of end product, Chamberlain has had an impressive season thus far.

He is so highly thought of at the club that back in September 2012, after the Gunners 2-1 defeat to Manchester United, Wenger said:

“We live in a world of immediacy. I wouldn’t have expected him to mature in September because he still looked Like a Boy”

“Now suddenly he looks like he can take pressure and that he has the personality to produce under pressure”.

With all this in mind, one can already predict there’s only one way for Chambo at Arsenal…. UP!

Arsenal has other pressing needs.

This arsenal team is almost there. The emergence of Francis Coquelin has shown all that Arsenal has always needed a tough-tackling Defensive midfielder to shield the back 4 and with the summer window approaching, I expect that to be one of Arsene’s priorities.

For all it’s worth, this might just be hype. Remember the next Cristiano Ronaldo? [nani] the next Fabregas? [Merida].

Who knows the path Guedes will follow? I don’t think Le Prof will pay such huge chunk for a kid who’s still unproven.

This summer represents a very important one for Arsene and Arsenal, and his activities in the window will be closely monitored by fans, who expect their team to challenge on all fronts next season.

Be happy Arsenal fans, exciting times lies ahead.
