Rafa Benitez keen on Arsenal’s Laurent Koscielny
Arsenal are undoubtedly on the lookout for world class stars ahead of next season. But the Gunners themselves could also lose a few of their stars as well.
According to the Daily Star, Arsenal are reportedly considering using Laurent Koscielny as a makeweight to complete the transfer of Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema.
With news that former Liverpool and Napoli boss is set to take charge of the Spanish giants after Carlo Ancelotti’s departure this summer, reports have emerged that the 55-year-old tactician is keen on one of Arsene Wenger most trusted defenders Koscielny.
Benitez will have huge funds to spend when he is made boss at Madrid and reports say the Spaniard will splash the cash to land Koscielny this summer.
Wenger on the other hand is reportedly lining up an offer for Benzema, and the Daily Star claim Koscielny could be used as a means to completing a deal for the French striker.
Koscielny, 29, signed a new contract last summer but, just like former team-mate Thomas Vermaelen, 29, he may well be tempted by life in La Liga.
