BAD NEWS: Midfielder FORCED To REMAIN At Club Despite Interest In Arsenal Move
Arsenal have been dealt a transfer set back with fresh report of long time target set to stay put at current club in other to secure a place at the 2016 Euro competition.
The French international has been linked with a move away from Newcastle, with Arsenal, Chelsea and PSG among the major contenders for his signature.
However, Didier Deschamps’ revelation over his selection process for Euro 2016 seems to have prompted the midfielder to stay put.
He told French newspaper Le Parisien: “Didier Deschamps clearly told us that he will only be choosing players who are regularly playing [at their clubs].
“With one year to go until the Euros, you cannot change club and find yourself on the bench.”
But the 25-year-old admits whilst a move might not be right this summer, he does still have aspirations of joining a top-four club.
He added: “At the same time, I want to play for one of the biggest clubs and I would notably like to play in the Champions League, something I cannot do at Newcastle.
“One day or another, my hour will come. In any case, I see myself staying in England.”
The 6 ft 2 inch midfielder claimed In January, that Arsenal were his “dream” club and he has always respected and admired one of Arsenal’s veteran “Patrick Vieira”.
“Arsenal made me dream when I was a youngster,” he said earlier in the year. “Patrick Vieira was my idol. I saw myself in him.”
Please explain to me why a player who feels he can only make the Arsenal bench and has not been recruited by Arsenal decision to remain at Newcastle is bad news for Arsenal. I am tired of foolish headlines like yours and decided to finally respond. You must be a Newcastle fan because you have no ambition.
I am not a Newcastle fan, but don’t you think the player would give us more dept in the Arsenal midfield?
