Arsenal have been dealt a final transfer blow with news that key summer target has completed a move to the Serie A.
According to fresh reports emerging from Portugal, Arsenal have been beaten in the race to sign Porto hitman Jackson Martinez.
This report is according to popular Portuguese media outlet Porto Canal, who claim Milan have beaten Arsenal and Liverpool to the signing of the Colombian hitman.
The report also says the Serie A giants matched up Martinez’ €35million (£25million) buy-out clause, with the player himself deciding to switch Porto for Milan, snubbing several interests from England.
Porto’s president Pinto da Costa told Porto Canal. “Jackson Martinez has chosen Milan,”
“Before going on holiday, Jackson announced he wanted to leave. The €35m (£25m) clause is not up for debate and must be paid. I learned just now that Jackson has chosen Milan.”
This report will come as a huge blow to many Arsenal fans, who had thought the Gunners where close to completing a deal for the deadly striker this summer.
