Arsenal, going into the summer transfer window are keen on bringing in nothing but the best; but then, they may also lose some of theirs with fresh emanating from France of Ligue 1 side Lille interested in Arsenal forward Yaya Sanogo.
This report is according to popular French media outlet Le10Sport.com, who claim Ligue 1 outfit Lille are keen on signing Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo on loan next season.
Sanogo joined Arsenal from Auxerre in the summer of 2013 and has since made 20 appearances, scoring once in the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund.
In the winter transfer window, it was announced that the 22-year-old striker has joined Crystal Palace on loan till the end of the season to gain further Premier League experiences.
However, Sanago suffered a several injuries during his loan spell at Selhurst Park and was limited to just eight games for Alan Pardew’s side.
Lille are thought to have Lorient’s Jordan Ayew in their sights but they’ve been given hope by Arsene Wenger that a loan for Sanogo could also be negotiated. It’s claimed that a deal is 50:50 at the moment.
At 6ft 3”, Sanogo represents a physical threat, however, it’s also fair to say that his first touch, link up play and finishing are still very raw.
Given the attacking options available at the Emirates it is hard to envisage him forcing his way up the pecking order anytime soon, so a loan does make sense.
