Arsenal are reportedly set to extend the contract of 23-year-old star despite not having plans to feature him at the Emirates Stadium next season.
Arsenal are keen on tying Carl Jenkinson down to a new contract before shipping him out on loan again this summer.
This report is according to Daily Mail, who claims the defender is set to sign a new contract with the club despite falling behind Mathieu Debuchy and Calum Chambers in the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium.
The England Under-21 International was shipped out on loan last season to West Ham, where he produced brilliant displays and signs of improvement under Hammers boss Sam Allardyce.
Wenger, obviously aware of his improvements has moved quickly to offer him a new long term contract to ward off interest from West Ham who are reportedly seeking to sign him up on a permanent basis.
Jenkinson has also caught the eye of several other clubs in England with Sunderland, Stoke and Southampton all reportedly keen on landing him on a permanent basis this simmer.
However, fresh reports claim Jenkinson will chose to remain in London with West Ham, after a successful 2014/2015 season with the Hammers.
