According to earlier reports, Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger reportedly made a £40m bid for 27-year-old Benzema.
Although wenger has admitted he is pleased with his present squad and the introduction of Petr Cech to the team, he believes his side is strong a enough for a major title push next season.
However, Wenger also admitted there is still possibilities in adding “one or two player if he see any ‘exceptional and brilliant player is available.
It was earlier reported that Arsene Wenger’s long time Admirer Benzema expressed his desire to leave his present club with him refusing to play second Fidel to Cristiano Ronaldo; this has put him available in the market.
Wenger had this to say about his team.
“I’m happy with the squad we have,” Wenger said earlier today.
“If I find an exceptional player to strengthen, I will do it. It depends what’s on the market.
“It’s not easy, there are a lot of teams out there in Europe competing for the same player. We don’t rule it out and don’t guarantee we sign.”
When asked of him been linked with Karim Benzema’s move to the Emirates he had this to say.
“I don’t know where that comes from but it’s not happening at the moment, no.”
