Arsenal have been handed a major blow in their pursuit of key summer striker target.
According to reports, summer transfer target Alexandre Lacazette will remain with his club Lyon in the coming season.
This news was made know by Lyon boss Hubert Fournier, who claimed Lacazette has made up his mind to remain at the club, despite several interests from top clubs across Europe.
When asked where he saw Lacazette playing this season, Fournier said: ‘Olympique Lyonnais.
‘I haven’t got much to say. He has said he wants to stay with us.
‘Of course some clubs are going to be attracted to the sort of player he is but he is under contract at Lyon and with all of the different competitions we have this season with the Champions League and the domestic French cups, we obviously want to keep him at the club.’
Lacazette who was the top scorer in the Ligue 1 last season with 27 goals has been heavily linked with Arsenal in recent weeks, and this news will surely come as a huge blow to the Gunners who are keen on landing a top striker this summer.
