Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is planning a major title push next season and the boss is aware of the need to bring in only the best in the summer to achieve his target.
Fernando Llorente is set to be an Arsenal player, following reports that the Gunners are set to complete an £8.5 million move for the Juventus striker next week Monday.
This news is coming following earlier reports by the Telegraph who claimed a source in Juventus said:
“They have made an inquiry but there is no bid yet,”
“But it is clear they are interested and it is also clear that Juventus are ready to listen.”
And now, fresh reports according to the Metro claim that a bid will be made for the striker and the deal sealed next week Monday.
The 30-year-old made 31 league appearances scoring only 7 goals amassing a total of 1955 minutes after which his game time was reduced, with Alvaro Morata and Carlos Tevez ahead of him in the pecking order.
Wenger recently stated that the club is not in desperate need of strikers “We are open-minded but we are not desperate.
“Today we didn’t have (Danny) Welbeck or (Alexis) Sanchez, who are big players.”
But Wenger seem to have a special liking for the big striker who will be seen as competition for Olivier Giroud.
The World and European Cup winning Spanish international has also been linked to Tottenham, but it seems the Gunners are getting this one over their north London rivals.
