The Gunners got back their winning ways last weekend against Swansea City but they lost 2 players due to injury in their Capital One Cup defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.
Arsene Wenger has been criticised for failing to lure players over the summer and he has given hint on why he failed to sign in players to fill into key positions at the Emirates.
Wenger insisted he is only going to sign players with quality and he doesn’t believe in quantity he also stated he couldn’t find players that are exceptional during the summer transfer window after being linked with a move a with an array of stars.
“I said during the transfer period that we would take players who can strengthen our squad, but we did not find them,” he said.
“The question was not even ‘do we sign them or not?’ we have not found one player who could strengthen our squad.
“We need to get everybody back. We have a very big squad. We are not shutting the door as well [in January].
“If we find opportunities, we will do [them]. Having everybody back, especially offensively, I feel we have what we need.”
The Gunners currently have 8 players injured and it showed seriously when we played Sheffield Wednesday.
Wenger will have to step it up this time and search for exceptional players in winter if truly he is going for a major title push this season.
