Arsenal are interested in securing the signature of phenomenal Portuguese youngster Goncalo Guedes from Benfica.
The 18-year-old, who’s progress has been likened to that of Jack Wilshere at Arsenal just made his debut for Benfica B in the Segunda Division in April last year, and made his Primera Liga debut for Benfica in January this year and has already become a regular in Benfica’s first team this season.
He became the youngest Portugese to score in the Group stage of the Champions League when he scored against Atletico Madrid this season, and has earned a call up to the Portuguese Senior National team aged just 18. He expressed his delight at the call up “it was great; it makes me a happy player. But it should be noted the work of the entire team, the coaching staff and the president.

The youngster won Segunda Division Breakthrough player of the Year award in July this year and has attracted the interest of the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Barcelona. With Arsenal looking to add acquire his services to replace the now injury ridden Wilshere in January.
