Wenger himself confirmed he would sign only “top players” in winter, and this has seen the club linked to an avalanche of star players in recent weeks.
According to the Mirror, they claim Arsenal Gedion Zelalem is set to seal a new deal which will see him remain in Scotland for the rest of the campaign.
Zelalem was sent on loan over the summer to Rangers and has been impressive; he is expected to be back from a six month contract but following his impressive form, Ranger boss Mark Warburton has expressed his plans to keep the midfielder in Scotland for the rest of the term.
“So far, we are in good shape,” said Warburton. “The feedback from Arsenal has been very positive.
and, hopefully, we are closing to securing him.”
“The current deal is until January, but, as long as everyone is happy, we will extend that.” the Rangers boss added
“I have been delighted with his contribution and the last game he played for Rangers was his best so far.
“We have a great relationship with Arsenal and our job is to make sure they know their asset is being developed properly.”
However, it is believed Arsene Wenger might most likely reject the deal to see him have a deal extension knowing well Arsena injury problems are increasing by the day.
