Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Arsenal are currently not interested in signing Celta Vigo’s forward Nolito, according to Squawka.
The winger has been linked with a move to the Emirates with the Gunners reportedly keen on triggering his release clause when the winter transfer window opens next month.
It was claimed the Gunners were set to beat Barcelona to the winger’s signature and would triple the player’s wages to do that.
However, contrary to previous reports, Sky Sport correspondent Guillem Ballague via Squawka now claims the Gunners are not willing to trigger the winger’s release clause.
When asked about his thoughts on the winger moving to the Premier
League, Balague said:
”I know for a fact that Arsenal don’t want him.
”They feel for 18m euros, it’s not what they’re looking for so instead of me answering, that’s Arsenal answering for you.”
Arsenal were linked with the striker when Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade Chamberlain were both out injured but the Gunners might have thought about signing the winger after Walcott continued his impressive form against Manchester City on Monday.
With Joel Cambell also impressing Arsene Wenger coupled with the imminent return of Alexis Sanchez, the Gunners might not need the 28 year old Celta man anymore.
