Wenger himself confirmed he would sign only “top players” in winter, and this has seen the club linked to an avalanche of star players in recent weeks.
Arsenal have joined the race to win the signature of Italian goal hitman Simone Zaza, according to the Metro.
The Juventus forward, who is currently down the pecking order in forward options with coach Massimo Allegri continously overlooking him in favour of the likes Alvero Morata and fellow summer arrivals Mario Madzukic and Paulo Dybala, is believed to be seeking a move away from the Old Lady in search for more regular playing time.
Zaza, 24, who moved to Juventus last summer after they exercised their option to sign him having inserted a buy back clause in the deal that took him to Sassuolo a year earlier is believed to be pushing for a move away from Turin having received no assurances about more playing time in the second half of the season. The forward believes only a move away would help him force his away into the Italian squad for the upcoming Euro championship.
Arsenal, who have had Danny Welbeck unavailable all season due to injury, are light in numbers up front and thus understood to be keen on acquiring Zaza.
The Gunners would however have to move quickly to get their man as Goal understands London Rivals Crystal Palace are weighing up a move of their own.
