Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is planning a major title push this season and the boss is aware of the need to bring in only the best to achieve his target.
Arsenal are set to shock the premier league by making a surprise swoop for Watford’s striking duo, according to the Daily Mail.
The Gunners have been linked with a move to sign a striker to provide competition for Olivier Giroud and Wenger has reportedly set his sights on Watford’s duo Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo.
The Duo have been in superb form for the Hornets through out the season and has helped Watford climb up to 9th on the premier league table.
Wenger is reportedly interested in Deeney and remains a big fan of the English striker. The French tactician is also monitoring Deeney’s partner Odion Ighalo and have sent scouts to watch the Nigerian international on several occasions, as per the Daily Mail.
The pair have scored a total of 20 league goals between them with Odion Ighalo scoring 14 of those goals.
However the Gunners are going to find it difficult to sign either of the players as Watford boss Quique Flores has ruled out the sale of the duo.
When asked about the possibility of his strikers leaving in January, he said:
“It’s completely impossible. Our target as a team is very clear.
“The confidence of these players is amazing. They are completely confident in themselves.
“When we talk in the office with the sporting director and the owners we don’t talk about selling players.
“We talk about to continue growing with the same players, with the same group, try to add some for the future. The reality of the situation is we don’t want to lose anyone.”
