Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is planning a major title push this season and the boss is aware of the need to bring in only the best to achieve his target.
Arsenal are set to sign Golden Eaglets stars Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze, according to reports in Nigeria.
Nigeria under 17 captain Nwakali and right winger Chukwueze were both outstanding as Nigeria won a record fifth U17 World Cup in Chile in November.
A top source informed: “The players’ visas to England are being processed and a party of seven including their legal guardians are expected this month in London to finalise their transfer to Arsenal.”
Both players will be offered deals to keep them at the Arsenal youth set up, they are expected to later be given professional contracts by the Gunners when they turn 18.
Midfielder Nwakali who was crowned the most valuable Player of the 2015 Under 17 World Cup has already had trials with Arsenal rivals Manchester city.
The citizens already have two Nigerian under 17 world cup winners from the 2013 edition in Kelechi Iheanacho and Chidiebere Nwakali (elder brother of Kelechi Nwakali) in their ranks.
Kelechi who has professed his love for Arsenal in the past underwent trial at City but a deal for the youngster fell through as negotiations between City and the youngster’s agents broke down over the transfer fee.
