Arsenal are prepared to do whatever it takes to sign Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama this summer, according to reports.
The Gunners are preparing for a midfield overhaul this summer with Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Flamini and Thomas Rosicky set to be shown the exit door this summer.
Transfermarketweb claims says Arsenal are set to go in for Southampton defensive midfielder Wanyama.
The report also claims Arsenal are set to make a £12m offer and hope to bring him to the Emirates to kick-start a summer of spending
With the recent acquisition of Mohamed Elneny from FC Basel in January, Mathieu Flamini is reportedly not in Arsene Wenger’s plans for the future, hence the French man is set to leave the Emirates.
The exit of Arteta will give way for the arrival of Wanyama, Arsene Wenger has followed the midfielder since last summer and admitted in December that he rates the midfielder highly.
Wanyama was reportedly Wenger’s top target in the winter transfer window but the saints weren’t interested in losing their top midfielder mid way into the season.
However with the midfielder yet to sign a new contract at the St Mary’s, he could be allowed to leave next summer and Arsenal are prepared to usher him to the Emirates.
