Piers Morgan who is a well known Arsenal fan has claimed a very good source told him Guardiola was interested in replacing Arsene Wenger.
Morgan, a die hard Arsenal Fan also claimed Guardiola had identified Thierry Henry as his No 2 had he moved to the Emirates.
“I was told on VERY good authority last night that Pep Guardiola wanted to come to Arsenal with Thierry Henry as his No2.”
Prior to Guardiola’s confirmation as new City’s boss in January, top Journalist and La Liga expert Guillem Balague claimed Guardiola had an interest in managing in the Gunners.
Balague said “I do agree that Pep would be perfect for Arsenal but, despite the interest of Pep in the London team, I feel he might be going somewhere else.”
Guardiola has enjoyed a trophy laden managerial career so far with Barcelona and Bayern Munich having burst into the scene with 14 major honours won in his four years at Barcelona. Guardiola would have been the right person to help deliver a first Premier League title for the Gunners after 12 years.
