Arsenal target Ousmanne Dembele has been advised to remain in the French Ligue 1 with Rennes next seson, via the Express.
The winger who recently broke into the French’s club starting xi has been superb this season and have attracted the attention of a number of top clubs across Europe.
Arsenal reportedly had scouts present in Rennes game last weekend watching the forward. It is believed that Wenger was impressed with the report he got and is expected to follow up with a concrete offer this summer.
However, the player’s agent Badou Sambague believes it will be a mistake to leave Rennes next season as he feels his client still has a lot to learn at the French club. The agent urged the forward to remain at Rennes for at least another season before considering his future.
“We want him to follow a logical progression and we intend for him to be at Rennes for a season and a half,” Badou Sambague told French paper L’Equipe.
“After that, we’ll see what happens according to his evolution.”
Dembele was close to leaving the French club last summer but ended up staying after he was convinced to sign a new deal and with his current form, one can boldly say he is enjoying his time at Rennes now.
Dembele has nine goals in seventeen Ligue 1 appearances this season.
