Nigeria U17 international Kelechi Nwakali has reportedly flown to London to complete his proposed move to Arsenal.
The Under 17 golden boy has agreed to a five-year deal with the club and he is set to join the academy when he turns 18.
The midfielder has been a regular visitor to the club in recent month as both parties attempted to finalise his move and now reports in his homeland claims the midfielder is in London to put finishing touches to his contract.
“Kelechi Nwakali left for the United Kingdom yesterday with his brother Allwell to finally seal his deal with Arsenal,” CEO of ASJ Academy Emeka Amajiriaku told All Nigeria Soccer, as quoted by the Daily Express.
“Nwakali’s move to Arsenal is a done deal, a five-year deal has been agreed.”
Arsenal had to battle with the likes of Bayern Munich and Manchester City for the 17-year-old’s signature.
The midfielder was the best player in the FIFA U17 world cup that took place in Chile last year. He is highly rated in his homeland and is being touted as one of the stars of his generation. We are hoping he continues to improve and become a star in the first team in the nearest future.
