Arsenal have been boosted in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, according to reports.
The midfielder who has been impressive for BVB since joining the club three years ago is entering into the final year of his contract and has reportedly decided to leave the Bundesliga club by telling close friends he wants to move to London.
Mkhitaryan is seen as a direct replacement for Tomas Rosicky who is set to leave the club this summer after joining the Gunners from BVB in 2006. Wenger is keen to persuade the former to follow the same path as the latter by switching the Signal Iduna Park for the Emirates this summer.
And according to the Sun via the Metro, Mkhitaryan has made up his mind to join Arsenal and has started looking for a house in London ahead of a summer move.
It is claimed that the Armenia international want a salary package worth £8m a year and Arsenal have indicated their willingness to meet the 27 year old demands.
Dortmund have offered the midfielder a new lucrative deal which will see a considerable rise in his current £30,000 a week salary but it seems the 27 year old has made up his mind to move to the EPL which he almost joined prior to his move to Germany.
The midfielder’s agent recently revealed that the German side are unwilling to sell the winger but they could be forced to do so should they not be able to convince Mkhitaryan to sign a new deal before August.
The Armenia international has scored 20 goals in 43 appearances for Thomas Tuchel’s men this season and Juventus are also keen on the midfielder.
