Fresh Update: Ozil and Sanchez To Exit Club After SHOCK Decision

Arsenal could find it difficult to convince Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez to sign a new contract at the club, according to reports.

The duo currently have two years left on their contract and the club is looking to tie them down on new terms. Wenger revealed last month that he is confident the duo will sign new deals during the summer transfer window.

However, the Times have now revealed that Wenger faces a huge task convincing the duo to sign new contracts.

“Arsenal are facing a battle to persuade Alexis Sánchez and Mesut Ozil to sign contract extensions,” writes Hughes of the times via teamtalk.

Hughes also went further to claim talks between the players and the club have failed to progress.

It is believed that the players are asking for other areas of the squad to be strengthened for them to be assured that the team will be able to compete for titles next term.

Ozil has been linked with a move to Barcelona while Sanchez is being monitored by Bayern Munich.

The rumours linking Sanchez with a move to the Alianz Arena has been strong in recent days and his national teammate Aturo Vidal has urged his compatriot to make the switch to Bayern.

“Hopefully,” Vidal said, when questioned about the possibility of lining up with Sanchez at Bayern.

“We have played together since playing for the Under-20s, so it would be nice to play with him again.”

However, if Sanchez or Ozil would be tempted to move to the Bundesliga or La Liga as the case maybe, it will most likely depend on Wenger’s activities in the transfer window.
