Chelsea have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, according to reports.
The Armenian midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates but according to the Bild via the Daily Star, Chelsea are now interested in signing the midfielder.
The report also claim the Blues tabled a bid of £46m for the midfielder last summer and would rival Arsenal for the midfielder this summer.
The midfielder who has been impressive for Thomas Tuchel’s men this season will have just a year left in his contract at the end of this season and he is reportedly undecided if he should remain at the Signal Iduna Park.
When asked if he will sign a new deal at the club, the midfielder said: “I do not know yet.”
However, Dortmund are not prepared to let their midfielder go without a fight and are willing to offer the Armenia international a lucrative new deal.
The midfielder is currently earning about £30,000 a week and the German club are prepared to give the midfielder a large pay rise in the new deal in order to convince him to stay.
When questioned about reports linking him with Chelsea, the midfielder said: “I do not know.”
Juventus are also interested in the midfielder who has 19 goals and 22 assists to his name this season.
