The goalkeeper switched the Emirates for Rome last summer on a season-long loan deal and that move could be made permanent this summer should talks between the two club’s be successful.
The Poland international has gone on to enjoy a wonderful season in Rome and has been impressive on the pitch making a total of 39 appearances in all competitions for the club so far.
Szczesny is currently enjoying life in Rome and has previously stated his desire to remain at the Italian capital city. He also revealed last month he had told Arsene Wenger about his decision and when questioned about his future after Roma’s game against Napoli, the goalkeeper revealed both clubs have begun negotiations regarding making his move to the Italian capital permanent.
“Next year in Rome? I don’t know,” he said.
“I know what you know, that the clubs are talking about it.”
It is believed that Arsenal will demand as much as £11.6m should they decide to allow the goalkeeper leave permanently.
Everton and Liverpool are also monitoring the goalkeeper but it’s likely Wenger will prefer to do business with a team outside the Premier League.
