Arsenal now lead Tottenham in the race to sign Charlton Athletic striker Ademola Lookman, according to reports.
The Gunners have been following the striker since he broke into the scene last November. The Gunners were even prepared to table a bid for the 18-year-old in January but the striker chose to remain at the Championship club in order to continue his development.
With the summer transfer window fast approaching, Wenger has been linked with the striker again and reports in England claim the Gunners are leading Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign the striker.
It is believed that a fee of £2.5m would be enough to lure the striker away from Charlton.
Wenger is desperately in need of a recognized centre forward to lead the line next season but the French man is actively making sure the club’s future is bright by securing some of the best young talents in and outside the country.
Lookman is definitely one for the future. He made his debut for Charlton Athletic in November last year and has been superb since breaking into the club’s first team. The young striker already has five goals to his name this season in as many games he has played for the Championship club.
