Arsenal have told Alexis Sanchez that he will not be sold this summer, according to Squawka.
The forward has been linked with a move away from the Emirates for quite some time and it is believed the former Barcelona man is frustrated at the club due to its inability to challenge for the league title in a season where the traditional big teams fell apart. It is now being reported that the forward is stalling on signing a new contract at the club as he weighs up his future.
According to the report, the club has informed the player that they won’t sell him under any circumstances this summer. It also added that the player’s relationship with Wenger has gone cold since he was substituted in the 1-0 win over Norwich a fortnight ago but the club won’t entertain any offer for him as they are keen to show supporters that the era of selling their best players is over.
The player is still keeping his options open as it is claimed that he wants the club to convince him of their ambition before signing a new deal.
Sanchez has previously urged the club to sign world class players this summer that would take the team to the next level and this summer transfer activity will be very crucial in deciding Sanchez’s Arsenal future.
Sanchez has been an important member of the Gunners team since joining from Barcelona in 2014 and it would be good news to the Gooners should the club be able to keep him from the claws of potential suitors.
