Labour Leader and die hard Arsenal fan, Jeremy Corbyn has urged the club to let Arsene Wenger decide his future.
The Labour leader was speaking about the fans recent protest and speculations surrounding the French man’s future, he said a lot of club will do all they can to achieve what Wenger has achieved at Arsenal, urging the fans to support the manager and let him leave when he feels it is right.
“I’m a Wenger man,” Mr Corbyn said, as quoted by the Mirror.
“I like Arsene Wenger, I think he’s an amazing manager, a very intelligent man.
“I say to people that feel disappointed in Arsene – he has ensured Arsenal have been in the Champion’s League for 20 years. No other club in Europe (other than Madrid) has managed that.
“Of the 92 clubs in the league, pretty well 85 would give their eye teeth to achieve what Arsene Wenger has achieved.”
“I remember him talking to a group of primary school kids from my constituency when they had a ‘language day’ at the Emirates Stadium and Arsene Wenger came and talked to them. I liked his approach.”
I think Arsene should go when he wants to go. And we support him.”
Wenger has led the club to finish in the top four for the 19th consecutive year, an achievement which no Premier League club has achieved.
