Manchester City are planning a double raid on Arsenal, according to the Mirror.
Incoming City boss Pep Guardiola has reportedly set his sight on Arsenal duo Alexis Sanchez and Jack Wilshere as the Spanish tactician attempts to shape his squad over there at the Etihad.
Sanchez who is reportedly stalling on signing a new contract at Arsenal and keeping his options open is said to be attracting the interest of Guardiola.
Reports in Spain claim Sanchez is keen or working with Guardiola who signed him for Barcelona for £26m in 2011. City are prepared to pay as much as £40m for the Chile international which would represent a £5m profit for Arsenal should the Gunners decide to sell.
Wilshere is another player that as caught the attention of Guardiola, the out going Bayern Munich boss is keen to build his City squad around Jack Wilshere and City could stump up as much as £40m to sign the England international.
Wilshere currently has two years left in his contract at Arsenal and with the reported lack of progress in contract negotiations between Wilshere and Arsenal, City are keen to take advantage by offering the player a massive pay rise to the £110,000 the Gunners are reportedly offering the midfielder.
However, City know they will find it difficult to sign the duo from Arsenal as Wenger had stressed on numerous occasions that the era when the club sold its best players to rival teams is over. The Gunner’s fans will take solace in their manager’s words and will definitely be confident the duo won’t be switching to the Etihad this summer.
