Price who released The Bundesliga Blueprint book last year and also wrote a biography of Klopp he revealed Jurgen Klopp had plotted a £20m raid on Bayern Munich for Gotze but Price says the move has now fallen through.

This news comes as a bad news as Arsenal had initially been heavily linked with a move for the Swiss international.

Price said: “Jurgen Klopp is set to raid the Bundesliga this summer, as he stamps his mark on his Liverpool team.

“He has already moved to secure burly Schalke defender Joel Matip on a Bosman free – Mainz keeper Loris Karius is set to sign this week, after undergoing a medical at Anfield today.

“Though an ambitious swoop for Bayern’s out of favour Mario Gotze has collapsed, Klopp will continue to shop in his homeland.

“He may well return to Munich for Gotze’s team mate Pierre Hojbjerg, who has announced that he will leave the Allianz this summer.

“Hojbjerg has spent the last two seasons out on loan, and would relish the opportunity to be developed by Klopp, conceding that he isn’t Champions League ready yet.

“That will be a key factor after Liverpool lost out to Arsenal for Monchengladbach playmaker Granit Xhaka, who preferred to play in Europe’s elite competition.”

Price added: “Defence is a priority for the Reds’ summer overhaul, and Albert Moreno’s Europa League final horror-show reasserted left back as a problem position.

“A potential German solution is Cologne’s versatile full back Jonas Hector, who roams forward less than Moreno, but also makes far fewer defensive ricks.

“His omission from Germany’s Euro 2016 squad may convince him to move on in pursuit of a bigger platform – one that Klopp could offer.”
