Fresh from completing the signing of Granit Xhaka, Arsenal have made a bid for Spanish striker Alvaro Morata, according to reports.

Wenger is understandably seeking more fire power following the long term injury suffered by Danny Welbeck. Top of Wenger’s wish list is Alvaro Morata and according to the Sun via the Daily Express Wenger has made a move for the striker by submitting an official bid worth £28m.

Real Madrid are expected to activate the buy back clause in the player’s contract this summer and sell him for a higher profit.

The report added that Wenger would learn by next week after the Uefa Champions league final if his bid was successful.

Manchester United new boss Jose Mourinho is said to be very keen on the striker and could rival Wenger for his signature.

Manchester City and Chelsea have also been credited with an interest in the 23 year old. Despite interests from rivals, Arsenal are reportedly favourites to sign the Striker and it is believed the 23 year old also favours a move to the Emirates.

Morata scored just 15 league goals in 63 appearances for Juventus but Wenger believes the player is suited more to the Arsenal style of football.
