The 21 year old defender left the Catalan club five years ago and has developed into one of the finest full backs in world football, his development has attracted the interest of his former club with reports claiming the Spanish giants will attempt to sign him back this summer.
The defender admitted he is happy to be linked with the Spanish club but shrugged off reports claiming he is being lined up as a replacement for Dani Alves. The defender has decided to focus on winning a place in Spain’s squad travelling to France for the Euro 2016 championship instead of thinking about Barca’s interest.
“Well, the truth is that right now this does not interest me, because I am focused on the national team,” he told Cadena Cope, as quoted by Goal.
“For those things I have an agent who deals with off-the-field issues. When you have a good season, news like this always emerges.
“I am very misinformed about it, these are questions for my agent, but I am happy to attract the interest of such big clubs, that’s always nice.
“I have said it before: I am very happy where I am and I do not think about anything else than the national team.”
“These things, until they come, you never know what to do. My agent does this job,” he said.
“I do not know very well what’s happening at Barcelona. If Alves leaves they will need a new right-back, but there are a lot of good players around Europe.”
Bellerin has previously said he is happy at Arsenal and isn’t seeking for a move back to Spain. Wenger on his own part is reluctant to lose the defender and would resists all Barca’s attempts to sign the 21 year old.
