Wenger came under severe criticism during the season with some sections of the Gunners’ fans calling for the French man to be axed after the team fell out of the title race. But Ferguson has lent in support of the French man saying he has been fantastic for Arsenal.
“He’s been fantastic,” said Fergie, as quoted by the Mirror. “Now he gets a lot of criticism, but I admire that you’re not going to bend to the will of the critics.
“He stays with what he believes in. And I think people who do that are outstanding coaches.
“When you talk about consistency, Arsene’s never changed the way that his side has played.”
Wenger’s side ended the season 10 points behind League Leaders Leicester City making it twelve years without a league title but its worthy to note that the French man has never finished outside the Champions League spot with Arsenal.
