Liverpool and Leicester City are set to go head to head in the race to sign Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, according to the Express.
Premier League Champions Leicester City are keen on strengthening its squad ahead of their first season in the Champions League and they see Chamberlain as a quality addition.
Chamberlain’s career has somehow stalled at the Emirates with the England international struggling with injuries and battling for form when fit. And Arsene Wenger is now open to the idea of selling the 22-year-old this summer. It is believed that the winger still wants to continue at the Emirates but should the club receive a good offer for his services, he would have no choice but to honour the club’s decision.
Liverpool are also keen on the midfielder as Klopp is said to be a fan of the 22 year old but it remains to be seen if Wenger would sell the player to a long term rival.
Arsenal have been linked with the likes of Riyad Mahrez and Saido Mane as Wenger tries to improve his squad and should the French man pull off any of those signings, Chamberlain would be the likely casualty.
Chamberlain is still highly rated in England despite scoring just seven league goals in over 100 league appearances since joining the Gunners in 2011.
