Arsenal are close to reaching an agreement with Besiktas over the sale of Colombia international David Ospina, according to reports.
Ospina featured sparingly for the Gunners this term, playing second fiddle to Petr Cech and the Colombian is now being linked with a move away, two years after joining the club
It was reported last week that the goalkeeper is open to the idea of joining Besiktas this summer after the Turkish giants had promised the goalkeeper a first team spot. It was thought Besiktas have only sounded out his representatives while indicating their interest to Arsenal. However, it appears that discussions are more advanced than first thought as Transfer Market Web via the Daily Star claims both clubs are close to agreeing a fee to sell the goalkeeper. The report also added that Ospina has privately indicated his desire to leave the Emirates this summer.
The 27 year old is set to play an important role for the Colombian national team in this year special edition of the centenary Copa America. However, any hope of seeing the goalkeeper at Colney training ground again is gradually fading as the deal is expected to be completed in the coming weeks.
The deal to take Ospina to Besiktas would worth about £3.5m.
Ospina played 22 league games for Arsenal since joining the club in 2014 and really impressed between the sticks.
