Arsene Wenger is reportedly interested in signing another striker despite closing in on Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy.
Arsene Wenger’s search for a striker has been an open secret since the end of the season, it was thought that the French man has set his sight on Juventus’ Alvaro Morata but the French man shocked many by activating Jamie Vardy’s release clause last week.
According to Goal.com, the French man isn’t stopping there as it is believed that Wenger would look to sign an additional young Centre Forward after completing Vardy’s deal.
Giroud has now supported Goal’s claim by saying he expects the club to sign another striker along with Vardy due to Welbeck’s injury.
Giroud said: “With Welbs injured, the boss wanted to sign at least one or two strikers so I expected a top striker.
“I think it’s [Vardy’s arrival] very beneficial to the club. Hopefully he’s going to score lots of goals like he has for Leicester.”
Arsenal have been linked with Hoffenheim’s Antonio Kolak and AZ Alkmaar striker Vincent Janssen both of whom are young and would come in relatively cheap to offer support to both Vardy and Giroud.
James Olley of the Evening Standard is reporting Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy will likely to accept Arsenal deal.
This news has come hard on fans after Olley claimed that a ‘leak’ in the England camp has informed him that Vardy is 80 percent sure he will reject a move to the Emirates Stadium.
