Arsenal target Alvaro Morata has broken the ice says that he is “calm” despite speculation surrounding his future at Juventus.
Arsene Wenger is serious about strengthening his front-line, with Jamie Vardy deal on hold and the recent uncertainty about playing for Arsenal which he revealed to his England team-mates, Wenger could sweep in for Morata who has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.
Morata is currently on international duty with Spain and he is expected to start when they take on Czech Republic on Monday.
He insisted that his attention is not on the future at club level.
“I’m very calm,’ Morata said when asked on the speculation. “I have a contract with Juve and I feel at home there.
“At the moment I belong to Juve until someone tells me otherwise. Now I’m thinking about the European Championships, a very important tournament for me and my teammates.
“I know this is a very important European Championship for me. It’s my first European tournament and it’s a dream to play for Spain.
“I feel very well. The pain has passed and I didn’t play the last friendly in order to arrive better.
“If the coach decides, I will be ready to play against the Czech Republic.
“It’s a huge responsibility, it generates a lot of pressure but I’m prepared to be the striker for Spain.”
