Arsenal have taken a huge step towards signing a striker as the club have reportedly agreed personal terms with Romelu Lukaku.
The Belgium striker has previously revealed that he is open to a move away from Everton and also revealed his preference of moving to a club playing in the Champions League.
The Gunners are interested in signing the player, earlier this week, it was claimed the club were in talks with the player’s agent. Italian Journalist Emanuele Giulianelli, via the Daily Star has now revealed personal terms have been agreed between the club and the player’s representative.
“Despite Chelsea pressing, Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Lukaku.
However, it is believed the Gunners will find it difficult to convince Everton to sell the striker as their new manager Ronald Koeman is keen on the striker to stay at the club next summer. Everton have now made a move on their own and are prepared to offer the striker a new contract worth over £100,000 a week.
Chelsea are also keen on the striker but according to Giulianelli, it is Arsenal who currently lead the race to sign the player.
Lukaku scored 18 league goals for Everton last year and would be a very good signing should Wenger manage to get the big Belgian over to the Emirates.
