Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup has hinted he is not interested in a move to the Emirates, according to the Daily Star.
Arsenal are reportedly interested in the midfielder, with reports in Turkey claiming there have been talks between the Gunners and Besiktas over the services of the midfielder. It was claimed that Besiktas were interested in selling him for £17m but the player has now revealed he does not intend to leave the club.
Ozyakup, who was a Gunner before he joined Besiktas in 2012, has now revealed he is no hurry to change clubs, ruling out a potential return to the Emirates.
Speaking with Turkish news outlet, Milliyet, Ozyakup revealed his priority is to play Champions League football with Besiktas.
“The offers may come but I don’t want to go.”
“I want to stay at Besiktas for another year and contribute to the Champions League,” he said.
It is no surprise that the midfielder is being linked with a move back to the Emirates, he has developed into one of the best midfielders in Turkey since joining the club, making over 110 league appearances for Besiktas in the process.
Manchester united have also been linked with the midfielder in the past but it is Arsenal who are believed to hold a serious interest. However, his decision to remain in Turkey means Wenger would have to look at other targets or make do of what he has at his disposal.
