Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit has claimed Arsene Wenger is “scared” to hire former players as the Frenchman has never opened the door for them.
Thierry Henry left was forced to leave his role in the Arsenal academy earlier this year due to a dispute with Wenger in regards to his role as a pundit and also a manager.
The former Arsenal midfielder revealed Wenger is scared to work with his ex-players despite the likes of Dennis Bergkamp and Patrick Vieira enjoying coaching success at other clubs.
“Arsene Wenger is scared to see former Arsenal players put questions to him,” Petit told Sport1 Direct.
“Why didn’t Arsene open the door to Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, Patrick Vieira or Tony Adams?” Petit told Sports France.
“Arsene couldn’t imagine that anyone would criticise him openly on television, never mind a former Arsenal player.
“I was with Patrick two days before he went to the USA… maybe he will not be happy I’m saying this in public but he’s really disgusted by Arsenal and Arsene’s attitude.”
However, this is not the first time Petit has hit out at Wenger as he revealed earlier this month Patrick Vieira was unhappy with the Frenchman after been snubbed by the Gunners.
