Arsenal Star Reveals What Has Changed At The Club This Season

Arsenal winger Theo Walcott has revealed there is a change in the team’s mentality this season, via the Daily Mail.

The Gunners have started the season in superb form and Walcott is confident the team can do better than previous seasons.

Arsenal cruised to a fifth straight win against Burnley over the weekend and have remained unbeaten since losing to Liverpool at the start of the 2016/2017 campaign.

The Gunners performances in all competition this season has led to many bookmakers tipping Arsenal to win the Premier League title and also, come out top of their Champions’ League group stage ahead of European giants Paris Saint Germain.

In the last couple of seasons, the mentality of Arsenal players have been questioned by pundits who claim they are not mentally strong to win titles; but Walcott has now admitted that there is a change in mentality at Arsenal and the players now know what to do better.

Arsenal’s Achilles-hill in previous seasons has always been playing against the smaller teams and Walcott believes the team now knows what is expected of them against smaller teams.

He said: “As players, we don’t think we have anything to prove. But we are experienced and we know this is such a big club and we know we should be doing better.”

“It’s easy to say that, but you look how we performed last year, even though we didn’t have a particularly great end of season yet still finished second. We are playing well this moment in time, but we’ll see.”

”The way we’ve been performing, the intensity which we’ve been showing right from the start catches a lot of teams by surprise now. Small teams won’t be looking forward to playing us, but we need to make sure we’re ready meet the different challenge.”

Walcott is evidence that things have changed at the club this season. The winger failed to impress last season but has been in superb form since the start of the current campaign.

The club’s performance on Sunday confirmed Walcott’s claim, the team triumphed one nil against a resilient Burnley side, if it were the Arsenal of last season they could have capitulated but this time around the team fought till the end to secure a last minute winner. Gooners will definitely be excited by the team’s performances so far.
