Arsenal are planning to offer Hector Bellerin a new five-year contract, according to reports.
The defender who has been impressive since breaking into the first team is set to be rewarded with a new contract by the club.
Bellerin was one of Arsenal’s best players last season and attracted interest from a number of big clubs in the summer. Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Barcelona were all linked with the defender but Arsenal were not prepared to listen to any offer. Barcelona pushed the most to sign the 21-year-old but were unable to convince Wenger to part with his prized asset.
Other club’s were interested as well as the player’s performance has now made it inevitable for Arsenal not to offer him a new deal.
According to The Mirror via the Daily Star, Arsenal are prepared to offer the defender a new five year deal.
Arsenal have already contacted the player’s representatives and talks are set to commence after the international break. The new deal is expected to end other club’s interest in the Spaniard.
Bellerin still has three years left in his Arsenal contract but the club has decided to reward his performances with an improved contract.
