Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.

Tottenham Hotspur are set to rival Arsenal for Real Madrid midfielder Isco, according to reports.

The Spanish midfielder has found himself in a difficult situation at Madrid, he has struggled to command a place in the first team since he joined the club in 2013. His situation has worsened in recent seasons due to increased competition in his position and reports in Spain are claiming he could be allowed to leave Madrid in the future.

According to Diario Madridista via the Daily Star, Arsenal and Tottenham will rival each other for Isco’s signature.

We will face fierce competition in the race to sign the Spaniard as his former club Malaga and Manchester City are also believed to me monitoring his situation.

The midfielder has two years left in his contract and Madrid could be tempted to sell him especially as he is not a key member of the team.

Isco is a very talented player who would improve most teams in the world and could command a huge fee which will be enough to tempt Madrid into selling. However, it is not certain that the Spaniard will be sold, Madrid have been handed a ban from signing players for the next three transfer window and they might not want to lose a player when they know they won’t be able to replace him.

The playmaker can fit anywhere behind a striker and would definitely strengthen our squad, if he joined. Alexis Sanchez who was predominantly deployed on the left wing last season has been moved to the Centre forward position, should the Chilean continue to impress in his new role like he is doing, Wenger may need to find a player to take his position on the wing and Isco is a good fit.
