Great News: Arsenal In Pole Position In Signing This Lethal Duo In Winter

Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.

Arsenal have been installed as favourites to sign Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez and Burnley defender Micheal Keane, according to a report in Squawka.

We were heavily linked with Mahrez in the summer transfer window but Leicester City were reluctant to sell, rejecting all attempts made to sign him and he subsequently agreed a new with the league champions.

However, the new deal has not stopped the player from being linked with us and bookies have now slashed the odds for Mahrez to become a Gunner in January.

Bookmakers Ladbrokes have placed Arsenal at an odd of 4/1 to sign the Algeria International in the winter transfer window.

The odds for the player to move to the Emirates next summer is even smaller as the winger is prized at 2/1 to become a Gunner next summer.

Burnley defender Micheal Keane has also been linked with a move to the Emirates and the youngster has been placed at an odd of 6/1 to become a Gunner in January and 4/1 to complete a move six months later.

Reports linking us with Riyad Mahrez isn’t entirely surprising as the winger was one of our targets in the just concluded summer window. Wenger is a big fan of the winger and there is a possibility we would make a move for him should there be a slight indication that he is available.

Keane’s links are a bit surprising as we have enough players at centre back already, Calum Chambers can’t even get a place in the first team and has been shipped out on loan. Keane would likely cost us a huge sum of money and it is unlikely we would spend big on a defender who wouldn’t get into the first team immediately.
