1st January Signing? Arsenal Consider Signing Alexis Sanchez Replacement

Arsenal are considering making a move for AC Milan striker M’Baye Niang in the winter transfer window, according to reports.

The striker who recently revealed he had the opportunity of moving to the Emirates in 2012 has been in fine form for Milan this season and he is reportedly back on our radar.

Niang has been in talks with Milan over a contract extension but reports in Italy are claiming he has not been able to reach a compromise with his club and is now open to a move to the Premier League.

According to Calcio Mercato via The Daily Star, the striker’s contractual situation has attracted a host of top clubs in Europe, including Arsenal.

The striker’s current deal expires in 2019 and Milan were looking to keep him off the reach of other clubs by extending his contract but negotiations have collapsed and the player could be set for a move away with the Emirates touted as his likeliest destination.

Niang is a young player with so much potential. He will definitely add a bit of threat to our attacking options if he joins us but I’d like to state that I don’t think there is a concrete interest in the striker from our side yet.

When a player is finding it difficult to sign a new contract with his club, he is usually linked with a lot of clubs, especially the ones who had interest in him in the past like what has been happening with Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez in recent weeks, so i’m not surprised to see our name crop up among the list of clubs interested in the striker.

Wenger currently has enough attacking options available to him and I don’t think he would want to sign another attacker now, unless he is a player that will be too good to turn down.
