Arsenal are interested in signing Real Madrid 23-year-old striker Mariano Diaz, according to reports.

Wenger is reportedly preparing for the future and is looking to sign a young striker who would develop into world class for Arsenal tomorrow. We have been linked with a lot of young strikers like Andre Silva and Andrea Bellotti in recent weeks and Mariano is the latest youngster on our radar

The report claimed although, the striker wants to stay at Madrid, he will jump at the chance of joining Arsenal should we make a bid.

The striker’s willingness to join us isn’t surprising because his chances of playing regular first-team football at Madrid is slim compared to when he moves to the Emirates. He has made just three appearances for Madrid this season and gave a good account of himself.

Spanish journalist Anton Meana was the one who made this revelation via his twitter account that the player has caught Wenger’s attention and we could make a bid for him in January.

The Journalist also claimed, although the striker wants to fight for his future at Madrid, he will be happy to join Arsenal.

“Mariano said that, unless he gets an offer he wouldn’t be able to turn down, like Arsenal, he will stay and doesn’t want to leave in January,” Meana claimed.

Arsenal have favored many talented young players over the years and Mariano knowing that, would not want to turn down the opportunity of moving to the Emirates.

The striker capped off a good week with a substitute appearance in Saturday’s El Classico game, after scoring a hat-trick in Madrid’s Copa Del Rey game in midweek and will be hoping to be involved in more first team football, whether that will be at the Bernabeu or at the Emirates, we’ll have to wait to find out.
