Arsenal target Julian Draxler has confirmed that he wants to leave Wolfsburg in the winter transfer window.
Draxler’s future has been the subject of speculation since the summer transfer window when was linked with Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain as well as Juventus.
At the time, the winger wanted a move to any of the aforementioned big clubs and publicly voiced his desire to move which didn’t go down well his club and it’s supporters. Wolfsburg opted against selling him but the decision has now backfired as the player has failed to replicate his superb form of last season.
His relationship with Wolfsburg fans have gone sour and he was booed in their defeat 3-2 defeat to Hertha Berlin last weekend.
And after the game against Berlin, Draxler reiterated his desire to leave the German club as soon as possible.
“I don’t think I need to tell anybody what [being booed] does to a person – it certainly doesn’t help you,” he said, as quoted by The Daily Star.
“There’s no doubt it makes it hard for you to perform on the field.
“I can understand the fans, though. They have every right to do that.
“I said in the summer the way I feel and I stand by that.”
It’s obvious Draxler is no longer settled at Wolfsburg and with his current form, a move away will be the best thing for both his club and the player.
The Germany international has been a long-time target of Arsenal and Wenger was among the first to praise his performances for Germany in the Euro 2016 championship.
However, i’m unsure if Wenger is still interested in the winger due to the numerous attacking midfield options in our squad.
Draxler is rated one of the brightest prospects in Germany and would be a good signing for the present and the future.
